What is credit union month?

Credit unions around the world celebrate International Credit Union Day as a reminder of all the positive and real change that credit unions bring to the communities they serve. This celebration started in 1940 and is celebrated on the third Thursday of October each year. Credit unions gave back to the community through special promotions, community outreach and other social activities. TTCU has done various activities and outreach during credit union month. It has upgraded the Punta Gorda Seaside Park, hosted members to its “member appreciation day”, reached students through competitions and donated to school feeding programs.

Activities

The seaside park needed some repairs and so TTCU decided to repaint the chairs and walls. Artist Donato Cho repainted the wall with a mixture of sea, a bit of the culture and the rainforest.

The member appreciation day is also celebrated in October. This day is dedicated to show appreciation to our members. Prizes, snacks and giveaway are the highlights of this day.

Credit Union Day Art Competition

TTCU engages students in primary school through art competition. They are asked to color a sketch provided to them and are then uploaded on TTCU Facebook page. The sketch with most likes on FB wins.

TTCU looks forward to working with our members and we hope to bring more events in the upcoming year.
