What are the requirements?​

Becoming a member of the Toledo Teachers Credit Union is a straightforward process. However, it is crucial to note that individuals cannot simultaneously be a member of another local credit union, as stipulated by the Laws of Belize.

To initiate the membership application process, a visit to either of our branches is all it takes to complete the membership application form and open a Shares account.

Official valid government-issued photo Identification (Driver’s License, Passport, Social Security Card, Voter’s ID Card, or Birth Certificate)
Copy of beneficiary’s Social Security card
Requiring minimum deposit of $36, with a modest joining fee of $6.00 covering both the Entrance Fee and Passbook Fee. Of this amount, $20 is allocated to Regular Shares, while $10 goes to Mandatory Shares.
Proof of Address: A current utility bill (not more than 3 months) with the applicant’s name and permanent address.
If the bill is not in the individual’s name, an Address Verification Form must be completed and signed by the owner of the utility bill. Alternately, a valid driver’s license or a job letter containing a proper address statement can be accepted.
Individuals living in urban/rural areas who do not possess a utility bill must present a Recommender’s Form that must be completed, signed, and stamped by the office of the mayor.

Who can join?​

Individuals who live, works, having investments or does business within the Toledo District or Southern Stann Creek.
All students (current and former), employees or former employees of secondary and post-secondary, inclusive of tertiary level educational institutions.
Current and former employees of registered organizations/institutions, The Ministry of Education and its agencies and Government owned/grant aided educational institutions.
Individuals recommended for membership by other members who live or work within a 25km radius of the Credit Union’s office.
Individuals who are not being served by any other credit union (speak to your Branch Manager).
